To provide banking services at grassroots level in Bangladesh, commercial banks are implementing agent banking activities. In continuation of this, Bank Asia is going to provide agent banking services by establishing two agent outlets in Jessore’s Khajurah Bazar and KayemkolaBazar through DAM Foundation for Economic Development (DFED), an institute of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM). The inauguration ceremony of the programme was organized in Jessore Khajura Bazar on 6th August, 2017.
The guest of honor of the ceremony was KaziRafiqulAlam, President of Dhaka Ahsania Mission and DFED Chairperson. Deputy Managing Director of Bank Asia JahirulAlam and Md. AhsanulAlam, Agent Banking Division were present as special guests. Dr. M. Ehsanur Rahman, Executive Director of Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Secretary General of the DFED presided over the ceremony. The welcome address was delivered by Head of DFED, Md. Asaduzzaman.
The agent outlets will provide banking services such as opening of customer accounts using biometric system, accepting cash deposits and withdrawal, accepting bills, payment of foreign remittance, fund transfer and DPS.
Senior officials of DFED and Bank Asia, Chairman of the local Union Council and dignitaries were present on the occasion among others.
