A meeting for reviewing ongoing progress of Microfinance Program of DAM Foundation for Economic Development (DFED) was held at DAM head office conference room on January 28, 2016 with the participation of all branch managers, area managers and head office staffs. Honorable Secretary General of DFED, Dr. M. Ehsanur Rahman presided over the meeting. Director (Programmes) of DAM, Dr. Khaza Shamsul Huda and Director (TMD) of DAM, Kazi Hashem Ali was present as special guest in the meeting. In his welcome address Md. Asaduzzaman, Head of DFED focused on how microfinance can play an important role in poverty reduction and national development and urged all to work for that.
In the meeting, elaborate discussion proceeds on major audit observation and MIS findings. For strengthening the program performance, different programmatic measures were discussed and accordingly set a development plan for the next six months where minimizing portfolio at risk (PAR) and ensuring proper investment were given highest priority. Moreover, automation of DFED was also a greater concern. Besides, a plan for agricultural extension work also set for promoting homestead non cereal crop production among beneficiaries of MFP. The meeting was closed with the promise of achieving new development target.
