Micro entrepreneurship development is a main objective of Micro Finance Program of DAM. It is really dificult for the poor entrepreneurs to qulify for loans and allied financial servicess from formal Banking sector. Generally, progressive borrowers of microfinance needs larger capital to scale up their small scale venture. DFED supports these initiatives with the aim to make larger amount of credit available to its progressive borrowers. Micro Enterprises offer sustainable solutions that simultaneously generate employment, especially for the low skilled labor, accelerate economic growth, increase productivity and serve as linkages between the informal sector and large formal export markets. Micro Enterprises contribute to community development allowing flexibility and innovative capacities. Under this programme, an entrepreneur can access a credit facility ranging from 50,000 to BDT 1 million and enjoy flexibility in repayment and amortization period.
Main Focus:
- To develop micro entrepreneurs who develop enterprises that not only generate employment, for the low skilled labor, but also accelerate economic growth, increase productivity and serve as linkages between the formal sector and large formal export markets.
- Intensifying small and micro enterprise development and increased engagement of youths in diversifying productivity and marketing of both agro and off-farm sectors.
